Spectrum Dispatch is a reporting platform focused on one core idea: the story doesn’t end with awareness.

Our mission is to go beyond surface-level coverage and examine the systems shaping real life for individuals with autism and other disabilities—both within special education and beyond. That means looking at policy, infrastructure, access, and the gaps between what’s promised and what’s actually delivered.

From the classroom to the courtroom, from early intervention to adulthood, we report on the moments where systems succeed—and where they fail.

At its core, Spectrum Dispatch is about clarity: breaking down complex issues into something understandable, connecting the dots between research, policy, and lived experience, and asking the harder questions that don’t always get asked.

Because understanding the system is what changes outcomes.
